Art Michalik: Words into Action

About

Even before graduating from college, Art was already published in magazines in the United States, Canada, and Italy.

With his BA in Journalism, Art was hired on to the staff of a daily newspaper in Upstate New York. An opportunity to join the editorial team of a magazine drew him to California. That position led to another one with a larger publisher.

Art was then seduced by the power and money in marketing and served as a Marketing Manager and Director of Marketing Communications at two large multinational corporations.

In between, he served time at an advertising agency with a wide-range of clients, including Brembo brakes, Flowmaster exhaust, Falken Tires and Toyota Racing Development. Other clients included consumer packaged goods, industrial machinery and a regional credit union.

The alarm clock for his midlife crisis went off a little early when he left Los Angeles for Monterey, California and the world-renowned Laguna Seca Raceway. For a number of years, Art managed the racing school onsite, as well as coordinating on-track media and consumer events for brands like Lexus, Honda, Tesla, and Mercedes-Benz. Later he served briefly as the track's Marketing and Communications Director.

Waking from his slumber, Art rejoined the traditional workforce at eBay, where he managed all marketing communications for eBay Motors advertising. There he learned best practices for SEO, Content Development, Social Media, Online Advertising and more.

Art has since been hunting and pecking creating SEO-optimized content for a wide range of OEM manufacturers, suppliers and retailers.
